Master the art of Italian cooking with expert local chefs in Venice

If you love Italian cuisine and would like to master the art of making it, our cookery holidays are perfect for you. Combining hands-on lessons with the chance to experience la dolce vita, this trip to Venice is exclusive to readers of GH.

The Veneto region has unique culinary traditions and, thanks to its proximity to the sea, boasts a number of seafood specialities. During your cookery lessons, you'll learn how to make dishes such as sarde in saor and tiramisu using fresh, seasonal ingredients.

You'll stay at Villa Domenica Relais with no more than eight fellow readers, in a building dating back to 1611, with original features and set in beautiful grounds. Plus, you'll have time to explore Venice, where you can visit the Rialto Market, enjoy lunch in a typical bacaro and take part in a Prosecco tasting at a nearby vineyard.

Your private chef will prepare delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners at the villa and you'll get to try local wines matched with your meals.

    After breakfast, you will have your first cookery lesson with your chef - then feast on the results for lunch. This afternoon, the group will head to a nearby vineyard for a tasting of traditional Prosecco. Afterwards you will return to the villa for dinner, prepared for you by your chef.

    Explore Venice
    Venice, Italy

    After breakfast you will be transferred to Venice for a day exploring at your leisure. This stunning city boasts a wealth of incredible architecture and breathtaking views - and there's always something new to see, whether this is your first or your fifth visit.

    Enjoy lunch at a typical Bacaro in the heart of the city, as recommended by your chef. Later this afternoon, you will return to Villa Domenico for dinner.
